When visiting her husband in prison, Maïté meets Jean who she presumes is just another visitor. Acting upon the advice of her friend, who has suggested that she takes a lover, she becomes involved in an intimate affair with Jean. Soon however, she realises that he works as a guard at the prison and he is helping make life easier for her husband.
