Set in late 18th century Korea, where the beautiful Chunhyang, daughter of a proud former courtesan. Is torn between the governor she's obligated to marry and Mongryong - the man she loves. When she refuses the governors lewd advances, she is imprisoned and only Mongryong can save and avenge her.
