Congdon On a summer night in Duluth, Elizabeth Congdon, one of Minnesota's wealthiest women, is suffocated with a satin pillow as she sleeps in her sprawling mansion on the shore of Lake Superior. The police find no evidence, and came up with no motive. They quickly delve into the wealthy iron-mining scion's past. Ultimately the trail leads to Congdon's adopted daughter, Marjorie. The story ends in a sensational and astonishing trial that remains part of Minnesota folklore.
